Data Platform Engineer 80-100%

Actively shape the data and integration platforms of the University Hospital Zurich and create the technological foundation for the digital hospital of the future. In the Data & Integration Platform team, you will develop and operate the Data Platform of Platforms (DPoP) and the Integration Platform, ensuring their secure, stable, and scalable operation for Data and API Engineers.

starting December 2026 or by agreement

Your main tasks

  • Building, operating, and continuously developing the Data Platform of Platforms (DPoP) and Integration Platform (MuleSoft Anlypoint Platform) on a private VMware vSphere infrastructure
  • Building, operating, and developing the DevSecOps stack and its integration into the platforms
  • Further developing platform, deployment, and operational processes with a focus on automation, stability, and scalability
  • Ensuring platform security, performance, observability, and service levels using modern DevOps and monitoring tools
  • Close collaboration with Platform Engineers, Data Engineers, API Engineers, and product teams, as well as support during onboarding and with respective user groups

Your profile

  • University or University of Applied Sciences degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Medical Informatics, or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience in building, operating, and developing data platforms, platform services, or data-intensive infrastructures
  • In-depth experience with SQL Server as well as advanced knowledge in database operations, performance tuning, and platform administration
  • Experience with modern Data Stack and platform technologies such as Airflow, Trino/Starburst, Spark, DataHub, Power BI, or comparable solutions
  • Good knowledge of Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and DevOps tooling such as GitLab, ArgoCD, Vault, Grafana, or Prometheus
  • Structured, communicative, and solution-oriented personality with a high degree of personal responsibility and a strong awareness of quality and security, as well as familiarity with agile working methods
  • Very good German and English skills
