Aufgaben

Your Mission
As (Software) Engineer Data Integrations / Platform, you are part of an engineering team and ensure that new source systems are reliably connected to a data platform. Your focus: production-ready connectors and ingestion pipelines that run stably, are well observable, and synchronize incrementally.

Your tasks will be:

• You develop and operate data connectors to further source systems and set up ingestion pipelines (e.g., with Dagster or similar tools).
• You integrate source systems over APIs (REST, GraphQL, SDK) and implement the appropriate authorization logic per system (e.g., Active Directory).
• You ensure that integrations are production-ready: clean error handling, retries with exponential backoff, clear distinction between temporary and permanent errors, and stable protection mechanisms like circuit breakers.
• You establish observability: structured logs with context (e.g., correlation IDs), monitoring, and alerting (e.g., Prometheus/Grafana) as well as health checks.
• You set up incremental synchronization: delta recognition (timestamps, checksums, versions), sync state, and sensible strategies for deletes (soft/hard delete).
• You ensure quality through automated tests (unit/integration/e2e) and deliver complete, comprehensible pipelines and Dagster assets (extract, transform, load).

Qualifikation

Your Profile
You should definitely bring the following knowledge and skills:

• A completed degree in computer science or a comparable qualification, as well as practical experience in backend-, data- or platform-engineering (preferably also DevOps/SRE-like)
• Good to very good knowledge of Python (production code) and a solid understanding of clean software architecture and tests
• Experience in binding source systems over APIs (REST, GraphQL, SDK) including authentication, pagination, and rate limits
• Understanding of stable systems in operation: structured logging, monitoring/alerting, robust error models (retries, backoff, error classification)
• Experience with data pipelines or workflow orchestration (e.g., Dagster, Airflow, Prefect or similar)
• Teamwork ability, communication strength, and a self-reliant, structured, and solution-oriented work style+
• A very good command of German in writing and speaking is required for effective communication in the project environment

Nice to Have (not a must):

• Knowledge of Active Directory / Entra ID (groups, roles, permissions, mapping logic)
• Experience with observability stack (e.g., Prometheus/Grafana) and health checks
• Container- and deployment experience (Docker/Kubernetes/CI/CD), if you want to cover the DevOps part more strongly
