Data Governance Project Manager

Our Data Governance team is looking for a Data Governance Project Manager based in Lille

You will join the Data Governance Center of Excellence to transform our theoretical policies into operational realities. Your mission is twofold: Improve data control mechanisms and ensure the compliance of our assets through a robust audit framework. 

YOUR MISSION: ORGANIZE THE AUDIT AND CONTROL STRATEGY FOR OUR GOVERNANCE STANDARDS

1. Audit & Compliance Strategy

Your role is to measure the organization's compliance with our governance standards across our entire scope. 

• Control vs. Audit Framework: Define the demarcation line between continuous control (operational/automatic) and periodic audit (strategic/qualitative).
• Industrialization: Identify controls eligible for automation (e.g., referential integrity, freshness via Data Contracts) and lead their implementation with Data Engineering teams.
• Audit of the "Invisible": Design audit protocols (including audit plan, risk mapping, and triggering ad hoc missions) for non-automatable criteria (relevance of data dictionary, quality of descriptions, adherence to Privacy classification processes), identify root causes, risks, and responsibilities.
• Non-compliance Management: Define the strategy for monitoring deviations. You don't just point out problems; you build the framework that helps teams correct course (scoring, action plans, escalation).

2. Structuring

You will play a full role in defining and continuously improving the operating model for audits and controls.

• Mandate: Obtain validation of the sponsor level and approval of the general mandate and/or mission sheets to ensure the correct level of engagement from those being audited. Decisions should align with Decathlon's general Internal Audit framework.
• Reporting: Communicate the results of the work and ensure the follow-up of the implementation of recommendations and, if necessary, the escalation process.
• Interactions: Formalize and maintain rituals and procedures to optimize synergies between audit and control work and that of other federated governance teams (CoE Expertise & projects in particular).

WHAT YOU BRING

• Expertise in Governance & Data Architecture: You have mastered reference frameworks (DAMA/DMBOK), you understand the challenges of modern architectures (medallion architecture, Data Contracts, Data Product) and data structuring formats (YAML/JSON).
• Culture of Audit & Compliance: You have solid experience in defining standards, norms, and audit protocols. You know how to distinguish between operational control and governance audit, and you are capable of transforming an identified gap into a pragmatic remediation plan (KRI/KPI).
• Influence & Change Leadership: You are comfortable facilitating communities (Data Stewards, Producers). You can simplify complex topics, resolve friction points between technical and business aspects, and champion a "Governance by Design" vision.
