DATA ENGINEER*IN (m/f/d)

The Data & Automation Team is part of the OMR Tech department and acts as a Center of Excellence for data and process optimization at OMR. We create the basis for well-founded, data-driven decisions and smooth operations across all business units (Festival, Podstars, Reviews, Education, Jobs). • You will be responsible for our ELT pipeline infrastructure, develop, operate, and monitor our Airflow DAGs on Cloud Composer, and manage our connector landscape (Airbyte, Fivetran).
• You will build your own Airflow operators for data sources without standard connectors and connect new sources to our Data Warehouse (currently over 28 external systems).
• You will operate and optimize our BigQuery infrastructure, from performance tuning, partitioning, and clustering, monitoring query costs, and clean schema management in the Raw Zone.
• You will ensure Data Reliability, expand monitoring and alerting, maintain source freshness checks, and identify pipeline failures before the business units feel them.
• You will further develop our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for ingestion and dbt and actively participate in code reviews.
• You will lay the infrastructural foundation for our strategic data projects, such as the development of our central audience data platform, and contribute your ideas on architecture and tooling.

• You have several years of professional experience in Data Engineering and have already been responsible for ELT/ETL pipelines and data orchestration in a production environment.
• You are proficient in Python and SQL and have sound experience with Airflow or Cloud Composer.
• You are familiar with BigQuery (performance, costs, permissions) and have foundational GCP knowledge (IAM, Cloud Storage, ideally Workload Identity Federation).
• Ideally, you have already worked with dbt, Fivetran, or Airbyte and are familiar with tools like Docker, Terraform, or Cloud Monitoring.
• You act proactively, work in a structured manner, and are eager to take full responsibility for business-critical infrastructure.
• You have fluent German language skills and good written and spoken English skills.
