Job description

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Data Engineer to join our data team on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer to make a significant impact on our core business operations, with the potential for future projects based on performance. Project Objective The primary goal is to enhance and optimize a critical data pipeline that connects our data warehouse in Google BigQuery with our operational hub in Airtable. This pipeline is essential for automating the integration of multiple data sources, ensuring seamless data flow, and providing real-time insights to drive business decisions. Key Responsibilities As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying scalable and efficient data pipelines using Python and Databricks. You will work closely with our data scientists and analysts to understand their requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs. Your responsibilities will include: • Designing and implementing data pipelines using Python and Databricks; • Developing and maintaining ETL processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources; • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate data pipelines into our operational hub in Airtable; • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to data pipeline performance, scalability, and reliability; • Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in data engineering. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field; • At least 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer, with expertise in Python and Databricks; • Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, including ETL processes, data pipelines, and data warehousing; • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms such as Google BigQuery and Airtable; • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues; • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
