This role is not for dashboard builders or pure analysts. You develop as aData Engineer the core of our platform: our data models, pipelines, event architecture, and systems that drive pricing, product search, forecasting, automation, and ML. Your work decides whether we scale or not.

Aufgaben

Datenmodellierung & Architektur

• Design of the transactional data model in PostgreSQL for products, prices, RFQs, customers & orders
• Setup of the analytical model in BigQuery (Star Schema, Partitioning, Clustering)
• Development of an event-driven Data Architecture with Pub/Sub & Change Data Capture
• Decisions on normalization, denormalization & performance optimization

Pipelines & Data Engineering

• Setup of ETL/ELT pipelines between PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and Third-Party systems
• Development of event-processing pipelines over Pub/Sub
• Integration of external data sources (ERP, CRM, supplier APIs, e-commerce, payment)
• Implementation of Data Quality Checks, Validation, Monitoring & Error Handling
• Use ofdbt for transformations and modular data building

Analytics & ML-Enablement

• Setup of the Data Warehouse and provision of clean data for Business & Product
• Structuring of features for pricing models, forecasting & recommendation
• Implementation of Vector Search (pgvector) and data provision for RAG systems
• SUPPORT in embeddings, feature stores, ML pipelines & real-time serving

Data Governance & Operations

• Implementation of Data Lineage, ERDs & documentation
• IAM- and Row-Level-Security-Design
• Backup- & Recovery-Strategies
• GDPR-compliant data storage & anonymization

Qualifikation

• Experience as Data Engineer in productive systems
• Deep knowledge in PostgreSQL, query optimization, indexes & constraints
• Very strong in SQL (CTEs, Window Functions, performance tuning)
• Experience with BigQuery (or Snowflake / Redshift)
• Practice in ETL/ELT, batch vs. streaming, data quality, validation
• Python skills for data processing & API workflows
• Experience with event-driven systems (Pub/Sub, MQ, CDC)
• Understanding of B2B- or e-commerce data models
• Git, CI/CD
• High self-motivation & ownership

Nice to have

• GCP experience: BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions
• dbt
• Airflow / Cloud Composer
• pgvector / Pinecone / Weaviate
• ML feature engineering
• Experience with RAG systems & LLM integration
• Terraform / IaC
• Experience in 0 → 1 startup environment
