If you want to not only manage but also shape – then build the next generation of Energy Metering with us. 💚 As a **Data Engineer (m/f/d)**, you will take ownership of the entire data area within the Energy Metering business unit. You will be the driving force for building and optimizing our data infrastructure with a clear focus on highly efficient metering data management. You will act within a strong network: you will manage your topics independently, but for complex challenges, you will proactively seek exactly the support you need from the global Octopus Energy Data Team. **Your future tasks:**

Ownership & Collaboration: You will assume technical and strategic responsibility for the Data area of Energy Metering. You will work closely with the Octopus Energy Data Team and leverage their expertise and resources to optimally achieve our local data goals.

Metering Data Management & API Provision: You will retrieve metering data from our Gateway Administration, validate it in a structured manner, and ensure that it is reliably and performantly accessible via API for other systems and teams.

HubSpot & Databricks Integration: You will extract all customer project data from HubSpot and will be responsible for its storage, modeling, and further processing in Databricks.

Pipeline Development & Data Quality: You will develop, automate, and optimize robust data pipelines (e.g., with Apache Airflow or dbt) and ensure uncompromising data quality and availability in our Data Lake / Data Warehouse.

Business Support & Visualization: You will work closely with our Business Operations Managers and support them in visualizing and making decision-relevant data usable in clear dashboards.

**Your background:**

Responsibility & Work Approach: You are characterized by an absolute hands-on mentality and strong execution strength: you gladly take on responsibility and proactively drive topics forward. At the same time, you act with a strong team orientation, manage interfaces confidently, and know how to optimally leverage synergies with expert groups (such as the Octopus Energy Data Team).

Tech Stack: Profound knowledge of Python and SQL, as well as practical experience in the conception, development, and integration of APIs.

Platforms: Confident use of Databricks (Spark/Data Lakes) as well as in-depth experience with HubSpot (or comparable CRM systems).

Data Competence: In-depth experience in data validation, ETL/ELT processes, and the development of scalable data pipelines.

Language Skills: Very good German and English skills in spoken and written form to communicate smoothly both locally and with the international Octopus teams.
