Data Engineer (MS Fabric)

Data Engineer (Fabric) | Permanent | Auckland (Hybrid) We are partnering with a well-known consultancy growing their data practice. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the cutting edge of Microsoft Fabric, building lakehouses for clients across New Zealand. About the role This is a hands-on data engineering role. You will be embedded in a team that designs and delivers modern data platforms for some of NZ's most forward-thinking organisations, with Microsoft Fabric at the heart of what you do. Your responsibilities will include: • Designing and implementing scalable data architectures using Microsoft Fabric • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions that meet client needs • Developing and maintaining data pipelines and workflows using Azure Data Factory and other tools • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to data processing and storage • Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in Microsoft Fabric and related technologies, and applying this knowledge to improve our data engineering capabilities. What you'll need to succeed: • 3+ years of experience working as a data engineer or similar role • Strong understanding of data engineering concepts and principles, including data processing, storage, and analytics • Experience with Microsoft Fabric (Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, etc.) and related tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Power BI • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases • Strong programming skills in languages like Python, R, or SQL • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
