Data Engineer Manager & AI | Banking and Insurance Group | Milan

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Data Engineer Manager & AI for a prestigious international Asset Management company, part of a large banking-insurance group, engaged in an important digital transformation and evolution of its data platforms and AI. The figure will join the Data Technology area, with the goal of guiding the design and evolution of data and AI solutions to support business processes, ensuring quality, scalability, and technological innovation. The Data Engineer Manager & AI will coordinate a team of Data Engineers and ML Engineers working on cross-domain projects across various business domains (research, investments, finance, marketing, operations), closely collaborating with Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, and Innovation & AI teams. Responsibilities: The figure will be responsible for the following activities: - Coordinating a team of professionals between Data and ML Engineers, promoting collaboration, growth, and technical alignment. - Managing the entire data lifecycle: collection, modeling, orchestration, and integration on cloud platforms. - Supervising the design and implementation of data products and AI-driven solutions to support business areas. - Collaborating with infrastructure teams to ensure efficiency, security, and compliance of solutions. - Supporting the development of advanced analytical solutions, such as portfolio optimizers and predictive analysis tools. - Implementing best practices in data governance, lineage, and data quality. - Translating business needs into technical solutions of value, ensuring concrete and measurable impact. Your Profile: Candidates with the following requirements will be considered: - At least 6 years of experience in data engineering, ML engineering, and software development, with a solid technical background and subsequent growth in leadership roles. - Experience in building and deploying data and AI solutions in complex or consulting contexts. - Excellent knowledge of Python, SQL, and data orchestration tools (Airflow, Step Functions, etc.). - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and distributed frameworks (Spark, Ray). - Knowledge of MLOps (MLflow, SageMaker, Kubeflow) and feature store management. - Competencies in data modeling, data quality, and data governance. - Good knowledge of AI engineering and recent technologies (LLM, vector databases, RAG). - Excellent written and spoken English.
