Data Engineer – AWS Lead

Location: Spain- Germany - Barcelona

Work Mode: Hybrid 2 days a week to office
Experience: 8–12+ Years

We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer Lead to design, build, and manage scalable data solutions on the AWS cloud platform. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in AWS data services along with strong leadership skills to drive data engineering initiatives and mentor teams.

Tasks

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of end-to-end data pipelines on AWS.
• Architect scalable data lake and data warehouse solutions using AWS services.
• Manage and mentor a team of data engineers, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data strategies and solutions.
• Implement robust data governance, security, and compliance practices.
• Optimize performance, cost, and reliability of AWS-based data systems.
• Drive best practices for CI/CD, DevOps, and DataOps in data engineering.
• Stay updated with evolving AWS technologies and recommend improvements.

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering with at least 2+ years in a lead role.
• Strong experience in Python, SQL, and ETL/ELT frameworks.
• Hands-on experience building data pipelines on AWS cloud.
• Expertise in big data tools like Spark, Hadoop.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and lake architecture.
• Experience working with Snowflake or Redshift.
• Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
