Your contribution to the adventure

We are on the cusp of enormous growth acceleration and steer data-driven. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be part of our Data Insights team and build the foundation on which the entire company makes its decisions: a robust Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and scalable data pipelines that transform raw signals into strategic intelligence.

What exactly do we mean by that? 🔍

• Builder & Visionary: You anticipate the scalability needs for the coming 12-24 months, but above all, you hands-on drive the effort to set up, code, and tune this infrastructure. You determine the speed and stability of our data streams.

• Ownership of Databricks: You are the owner and lead builder of our data platform with Databricks as the central hub. You focus on database architecture, performance tuning, and optimizing query execution times.

• Integrations & Compliance: You build core pipelines, set up new API integrations, and seamlessly connect tools like Segment (CDP) for smart customer segmentation. In doing so, you monitor an uptime of 99.9% and all security and privacy guidelines.

• Mentorship & Growth: You liaunt directly with the Head of Data and act as a technical authority who helps junior and medior engineers grow through on-the-job support.

• Foundation for Scaling: In the midst of our scaling, you provide the indestructible foundation that our analysts rely on, ensuring our rapid growth remains manageable and profitable.

• Data Platform & Core Architecture: Databricks as the central storage and hub, set up according to the Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).

• Pipeline Engineering & Tuning: Complex ETL processes, robust pipeline architectures, API wrappers, and systems for advanced performance tuning.

• Customer Data & Analytics: Segment (CDP) as the central source for segmentation and behavioral data.

• Collaboration: Linear, Confluence, and Slack.

What do we expect from you?

• The Experience: At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, preferably within a SaaS environment.

• Tech Stack: In-depth experience with Databricks, Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold), and complex ETL processes.

• Engineering Skills: Expert in pipeline engineering, building API connections, and database optimization (performance tuning).

• Personality: A proactive 'Craft Authority' who foresees scalability problems, enjoys hands-on building, and technically mentors colleagues.

• Level: Minimum HBO/WO (Bachelor/Master) work and thinking level.
