Data Engineer (1 year contract)

Ideal Candidate

Minimum 5 years of professional experience with SQL, data modeling, and database programming (PL/SQL or equivalent);
University degree or diploma and fluency in English;
Familiarity with translating business requirements into technical solutions;
Experience with Data Warehousing tools, Oracle Application Express (APEX), or any business intelligence platform would be an advantage.

Job Description

Analyzing the sales business model to transform internal requests into high-impact reports and integrated data solutions;
Bridging the gap between raw data and insights by extracting tables from ETL layers and integrating them into the Semantic Modeler;
Participating in the design and architecture of complex data models (star schemas) to support License, Consulting, and Hardware lines of business;
Translating business requirements into actionable ETL user stories while collaborating with data engineers to ensure backend alignment;
Engaging directly with sales directors and managers to identify front-end errors and troubleshooting the data flow from source to dashboard;
Writing, reviewing, and optimizing SQL queries to validate data integrity and enhance the performance of existing tools and systems;
Liaising with global, cross-functional teams to coordinate the development of new projects and technical upgrades;
Investigating innovative technical approaches and alternative tools to resolve problems faced by the global business organization;
Performing critical maintenance tasks, including defect triage, incident resolution, and updating semantic models based on user feedback;
Drafting and maintaining technical documentation, lineage, and test cases while contributing to the creation of user manuals;
Participating in 2-week sprints by contributing to backlog refinement, estimation, and sprint retrospectives;
Monitoring the evolution of the products and proposing strategic upgrades to optimize group operations;
Adhering to data governance, privacy, and security guidelines while following established CI/CD and change-management processes.
