Data Center Technician

The main responsibilities of the Data Center Technician include:

• Ensuring correct functioning, maintenance, and repair of systems and equipment for Telecommunications and IT.
• Data center technicians are responsible for implementing and maintaining operational infrastructure within existing networks.
• Verifying alarm status directly or through the maintenance team to optimize/economize the operation of power supply, air conditioning, HVAC systems, fire detection and suppression systems, generators, condensate pumps, etc.
• Installing modules or sub-electronic components of IT and telecommunications equipment.
• Cabling between various devices/components (optical/electric signals).
• Ensuring client/partner/contractor access to the Data Center site in accordance with access procedures.

The requirements for this position include:

• Experience in the field.
• Good knowledge of equipment operation - HVAC, DC power sources, UPS.
• General knowledge of Telecom and IT hardware.
• General knowledge of installing electrical equipment.
• General knowledge of transmission: active and passive devices (optical connectivity: patch cords, ODF / Ethernet connectivity).
• Experience working with PC (MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Middle school education: vocational school, high school, technical post-secondary school, college.
• Availability to work in 12/24 and 12/48 shifts.
