Data Analyst – Power BI & Data Engineering

We are looking for a high-performing professional to support the Global Wealth and Asset Management Data Office in the insurance sector. This position combines equal parts data engineering and Power BI development. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to build robust data solutions and deliver impactful dashboards that support strategic decision-making at the executive level.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Spark.
• Design, develop, and optimize interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Apply data modeling best practices to ensure scalable and high-performing models.
• Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from multiple sources.
• Develop DAX calculations and aggregations for insightful data analysis.
• Use Power Query for effective data transformation and cleaning.
• Participate in ETL process design and implementation.
• Contribute to data warehousing initiatives.
• Lead BI-related projects, including backlog grooming and stakeholder management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions aligned with business goals.
• Demonstrate proactive thinking and suggest improvements in data workflows and reporting.

What you will need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree required. Preference for a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related.
• Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or relevant Power BI certification (nice to have).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI dashboard/report development.
• 5+ years of experience with Power Query/M for data transformation.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience writing complex SQL queries.
• Proficiency in DAX for calculations and data analysis.
• 2+ years of experience in data modeling.
• Strong programming skills in Python, including standard libraries and core concepts.
• Familiarity with Spark and data engineering pipelines.
• Understanding of ETL processes and tools.
• Knowledge of data warehousing principles.
• Experience managing and executing BI or data-focused projects.
• Experience with Power Automate (nice to have).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative team player with cross-functional communication experience.
• High attention to detail in reporting and dashboard creation.
• Adaptability to new technologies and tools.
