Job description
Do you quickly see what data is needed to answer a business question? As a Data Analyst within the Data & AI Office, you will analyze data, translate business challenges into concrete insights, and help colleagues use those insights for better decisions. You will also investigate where AI can add value and contribute to practical applications that improve ways of working.
You are the link between the business and the specialists within Data & AI. This way, you ensure that good ideas do not get stuck in analyses or experiments, but lead to solutions that employees actually use and that deliver value for our members.
Who are you
You are analytically strong and genuinely curious about what is happening within the business. You are not satisfied with the first question, but investigate what problem truly needs to be solved and what information is needed to make a good decision.
You can switch between different worlds. You understand the language of business, enjoy working with data yourself, and can collaborate well with technical data specialists. You don't have to build every model or data pipeline yourself, but you understand enough about data and AI to recognize opportunities, ask substantive questions, and critically evaluate results.
You communicate clearly and persuasively. You can easily explain complex analyses and help colleagues apply insights and AI solutions in a good way. You are also organizationally sensitive, connective, and results-oriented. You take ownership and remain involved until a solution is actually used and adds value.
What do you bring?
Bachelor's or Master's work and thinking level, preferably with a degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Econometrics, Business Administration, Information Science, or a comparable field;
several years of relevant experience as a data analyst, business analyst, or in a similar role;
experience in translating business questions into analyses, information products, or data applications;
good knowledge of data analysis and experience with SQL and Snowflake;
the ability to translate analyses into clear advice and concrete improvement actions;
affinity with artificial intelligence and the curiosity to quickly master new applications;
experience in guiding stakeholders and stimulating adoption;
an eye for data quality, privacy, and responsible use of data and AI;
strong communication and collaboration skills;
excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.
What will you do
You will work from the Data & AI Office within one or more value streams of Univé. You know the objectives, processes, and challenges of the value stream and, together with colleagues, investigate where data and AI can contribute to better service delivery, more efficient processes, and informed decision-making.
You help the business ask the right questions. You map information needs, analyze available data, and translate outcomes into clear insights and concrete recommendations. You also investigate where predictive models, generative AI, or other smart applications can support employees in their daily work.
You will work closely with colleagues from the business, Business Information Analysts, data scientists, data engineers, and other specialists within the Data & AI Office. You connect the substantive knowledge of the value stream with the possibilities of data and AI. During development, you monitor the goal and the added value. After delivery, you help the business understand, use, and further improve the solution.
Specifically, you will be involved in:
retrieving and understanding business questions within the value stream;
identifying and concretizing opportunities for data, analytics, and AI;
analyzing data with SQL in Snowflake and Python and translating the outcomes into understandable insights and advice;
developing and improving reports, dashboards, and other information products;
working with data scientists and data engineers on data products and AI applications;
formulating clear requirements, use cases, and acceptance criteria;
supporting employees and managers in understanding and applying data and AI;
stimulating adoption and data-driven working within the value stream;
monitoring whether a solution actually contributes to the original business goal;
identifying issues related to data quality, definitions, and availability;
handling data and AI responsibly, with attention to privacy, explainability, and human oversight;
sharing knowledge, examples, and successful applications within Univé.
Your base location is Zwolle, but we also work one day a week in Assen. We work hybrid, with an average of half of your time spent in the office.

Development: we invest in your personal and professional growth with training, knowledge sharing, and opportunities for further specialization;
Room for initiative: you will have the freedom to explore opportunities, make proposals, and initiate improvements;
Modern work environment: you will work with SQL in Snowflake. For more complex analyses, you will use Python. You will also use ChatGPT and other modern data and AI applications;

Extra benefits: discounts on your non-life and health insurance with Univé.
Who we are

You will join an environment with data scientists, data engineers, data analysts, business information analysts, and other data specialists. Together with colleagues from the value streams and business units, we bring together knowledge of data, technology, and business.
