Job description
Help organizations to deploy data and AI responsibly, reliably, and effectively.
Data and AI governance is more than policies and procedures. It ensures that organizations gain control over their data, make better decisions, and can deploy AI responsibly.
At adesso, we help organizations to sustainably organize data-driven and AI-driven work. Not by just introducing models and policies, but by connecting governance to business value, adoption, and daily practice.
As a Data & AI Governance Consultant, you will help clients bring structure, organize ownership, and further professionalize their data management and AI governance. You translate complex issues into practical solutions that actually work.
Your role
You bring structure to complex data and AI issues. You help organizations improve their governance processes, clarify responsibilities, and better utilize data.
You will work independently on analyses, workshops, and improvement initiatives, interacting with stakeholders from business and IT. Together with colleagues and clients, you will translate strategic objectives into concrete actions.
You will be given the space to take responsibility, deepen your expertise, and increasingly advise clients independently.
What you do
Data and AI Governance
You advise clients on data governance, data management, and responsible use of AI.
You assist in designing and implementing governance operating models, including roles, responsibilities, and decision-making.
You independently conduct maturity assessments and translate the results into concrete improvement advice.
You support the development of data strategies, governance principles, policies, and practical roadmaps.
You help organizations properly set up data ownership and data stewardship.
Data Quality, Metadata & AI
You analyze and improve processes related to data quality, metadata, and data lineage.
You assist in defining quality agreements, KPIs, and responsibilities.
You collaborate with data engineers, architects, and other specialists to translate governance issues into workable solutions.
You research how AI and automation can improve data management processes.
You consider privacy, security, Responsible AI, and relevant laws and regulations, such as the EU AI Act.
Consultancy & Stakeholder Management
You facilitate workshops with business and IT stakeholders to identify needs, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
You translate business objectives into concrete governance initiatives and measurable results.
You present analyses, findings, and recommendations in a clear and convincing manner.
You support clients in implementing new processes and working methods and help create buy-in.
You identify opportunities for additional services and discuss them with your team.
Collaboration & Development
You independently take responsibility for parts of client projects and monitor the progress and quality of your work.
You work closely with colleagues from various disciplines and reach out promptly when support is needed.
You use AI tools where they add value and critically assess the outcomes, with attention to confidentiality and data security.
You share knowledge, mentor less experienced colleagues where possible, and contribute to the development of our services.
What you bring
You are analytically strong, curious, and know how to make complex topics understandable. You enjoy working with clients and are energized by improving processes and organizations.
A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree, for example in Business Administration, Information Science, Computer Science, or a comparable field.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in data governance, data management, or data consultancy.
Knowledge of data governance, data quality, data stewardship, and governance processes.
Experience with conducting analyses, facilitating workshops, or advising stakeholders.
Understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and the collaboration between business and IT.
Interest in AI governance and the responsible application of AI within organizations.
You use AI yourself in your work and enjoy exploring how it can be smarter.
You work independently, take initiative, and know when to involve colleagues.
Good communication skills and the ability to bring different interests together.
An excellent command of Dutch and English.
Nice to have
Experience with maturity assessments, governance operating models, or creating RACI charts.
Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK or a CDMP certification, or the ambition to obtain one.
Experience with data catalog tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, or Alation.
Knowledge of metadata, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.
Knowledge of Responsible AI, the EU AI Act, or data readiness for AI.
About our team
You will join a small, enthusiastic, and eager-to-learn team of three colleagues. Communication lines are short, everyone has influence, and ideas are not only heard but also tried out. Our focus is on the consultancy side of data and AI. We guide organizations through AI transformations and always start with the client's real problem. From there, we develop roadmaps and help with implementation.
We work on data and AI governance, data strategy, change management, and data quality. In doing so, we continuously explore how AI can make our work and that of our clients smarter.
Development is paramount. We share knowledge, try out new working methods, and learn from each other. Do you have a different background in data management? We would still love to get to know you.
Why adesso? Because you can truly help build with us.
At adesso Netherlands, it's about more than just technology. We build smart solutions that genuinely add value for our clients. No endless experiments or AI just because it's trendy, but technology that works and makes an impact.
We are part of the international adesso Group, with over 11,500 colleagues at more than 60 locations. At the same time, in the Netherlands, we are a relatively small and personal team, with short communication lines, a lot of freedom, and room for personal initiative.
Big enough to make an impact, small enough to feel the difference.
AI First: building the future together
At adesso Netherlands, we are developing into an AI First organization. We believe that AI fundamentally changes how we develop software, work with data, and help clients.
Therefore, we look beyond individual AI experiments. We are building smart data platforms, AI-first applications, and agentic solutions that become a real part of business processes.
This also means we continuously innovate our own way of working. We embrace new technology but remain critical: not everything needs AI. The best solution always comes first.
And perhaps most importantly: the people
We love colleagues who are curious, share knowledge, and help each other grow. People who are good at their job but also enjoy collaborating. You will be given trust, responsibility, and the freedom to actually implement ideas.
What do you get from us?
A salary of €5,400 to €6,600 depending on your knowledge and experience;
8% holiday pay;
A contract for 32 to 40 hours per week;
A lease car or mobility allowance on top of your salary;
27 vacation days and 4 study days;
€3,600 personal development budget per year and room for certifications;
Hybrid working with flexible working hours;
Good pension scheme;
Growth opportunities;
International knowledge and development opportunities, combined with a close-knit Dutch team.
Shall we get acquainted?
You don't need to meet every technical requirement. We are primarily curious about what you have built, the choices you have made, and where you want to grow.
A CV or LinkedIn profile is enough to start the conversation. This will be followed by an introduction, a technical interview, and a practical case.
At adesso, you don't just work on tomorrow's technology. You also get the space to help decide how we build it.
