THE OPPORTUNITY

Join Pinta Dairy as a Dairy Farm Assistant, where you’ll be part of a supportive, down-to-earth team and a genuine learning environment. You’ll build practical dairy farming skills, gain hands-on experience on Pāmu’s largest dairy farm, and be supported to grow your capability over time.

At Pāmu, we care deeply about our people, the wellbeing of our animals, and farming in a way that looks after the land for the future - and you’ll see that reflected in how the farm is run day to day.

You’ll be joining a farm led by a manager with an open and transparent leadership style, who takes the time to share the thinking behind decisions so everyone understands the bigger picture and can do their best work.

Your work will be varied and hands-on, and may include:

  • Milking cows through our modern 80-bail rotary shed
  • Spraying and general farm duties
  • Supporting calf rearing during calving season

You’ll be provided with high-quality PPE and work within a strong health and safety culture, using well-maintained, up-to-date farm equipment.

This role operates on a roster of 6 days on, 2 days off, helping you balance work with life outside the farm.

This is a fixed-term position until the end of April 2026.

ABOUT YOU

You enjoy being hands-on, take pride in doing things well, and are keen to keep learning and building your capability on-farm. You’re comfortable taking responsibility for your work, while also valuing collaboration and open communication with the wider team.

You’ll bring a thoughtful, practical approach to your day-to-day work, with a genuine commitment to animal wellbeing and working safely.

You’ll also have:

  • A positive, reliable approach and the confidence to work independently when needed
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to contribute positively to a team environment
