Customs and Foreign Trade Leader

Job description

Customs and Foreign Trade Leader will be responsible for ensuring compliance with foreign trade programs and certification, identify risk activities and areas to create the preventive and corrective plan. Coach and Lead Customs and Foreign Trade team, providing support and training regarding foreign trade topics to other departments within Automotive as necessary.

Supervise and follow up Customs and Foreign Trade Central Function projects and report progress to the management. Manage the elaboration of overview reports, worksheets and presentation to the upper management.

Main activities:

  • Ensure proper and timely coordination of foreign trade certification and programs according to Automotive operation.
  • Lead and control of FTA (Free trade agreement) Area including trade service provider
  • Lead and advice other areas of the plants to ensure full alignment and timely customs compliance with plant operation, Identify deviation apply corrective actions, Ensure the proper flow of information.
  • Lead and advice Supply Chain Security program to ensure necessary compliance the AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) program guidelines and in support of CBP's C-TPAT program
  • Lead and advice complete annual associated security profile reviews and ensure profile updates are made by responsible functions
  • Work with Continental outside Customs legal counsel-consultants to obtain legal advice as requirement/approved
  • Participate in projects, workshops and other events related to their functions. Proactive and continuously improves its processes and is involved in other projects to improve
  • Coordinate IMMEX Trade Service Provider
  • Follow up of procedures regarding IMMEX and PROSEC changes: addresses, annual report, legal representative, associates and shareholders
  • Administration, renewal and certification procedures in Origin revision, VAT and AEO certifications
  • Lead and actively participates in tenders
  • Creation and updating of manuals and procedures
  • Lead and advise the analysis of the classification of goods as needed
  • Actively lead KPI's establishment involving CFT customs compliance
  • Supervise the control and administration of Annex 24 and 30 to ensure compliance
  • Perform all other position related duties in foreign trade as assigned or requested by management
