As an experienced Customer Solutions Engineer at Payter, you are the expert who helps customers with complex technical questions, diagnosing problems, and resolving escalated customer inquiries. You guide users through advanced troubleshooting of our products, provide expert advice, and deliver product training as the primary technical point of contact. As a deep specialist of the Payter platform, you share best-practice advice and work closely with various internal teams to successfully resolve complex or unique technical escalations.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, questions about software versions, and hardware challenges, including support with updates, transaction errors, and the flow of telemetry data.
Provide advanced terminal configurations, remote diagnostics, and support during rollouts, as well as resolving network issues (wifi, 5G, LAN) and peripheral integrations.
Act as the technical authority on Payter hardware and software, including cloud APIs, TCP/IP socket connectivity, and physical installation procedures.
Offer expert technical advice to users on the best solutions for integration and daily use.
Efficiently manage support tickets and deliver detailed technical solutions via phone, email, video, or chat.
Collaborate closely with colleagues and engineering teams to deliver customer-centric service, ensure quality standards, and streamline operational workflows.
Accurately document all technical interactions and develop best practices for the internal knowledge base.
Identify and share opportunities for product and process improvements based on customer feedback, in order to continuously optimize the overall user experience.
About Payter
At Payter, we are pioneers and leaders in contactless and cashless payment solutions in diverse markets such as electric charging (EV), public transport, retail, hospitality, vending, charities, and parking. The flexible Payter platform supports a wide range of payment technologies (including NFC, EMV, Apple Pay, and Google Pay), international banking processes, closed-loop payment and loyalty systems, and telemetry.
Through continuous innovation and in-house development, we redefine how merchants connect with their customers. We empower them to increase revenue, improve user experience, and gain real-time access to sales and performance data. Our high-quality products support technologies such as Contact & Contactless EMV, Mifare, WiFi, 5G, Bluetooth, and touchscreens. They have an extremely long lifespan, comply with international standards, excel in design, and are extremely user-friendly and easy to integrate.
You have at least 2 years of experience in an integration support role, or 3 to 4 years in a technical support function for diverse products.
You have practical knowledge of HTTP, JSON/XML APIs, and TCP/IP socket communication.
You are proficient with Postman and Swagger; experience with software development is a significant plus.
You are preferably familiar with industry protocols such as OCPP/OCPI, MDB, or EMV.
You have a broad background in technical support, testing, documentation, and training.
You possess proven problem-solving skills and a proactive drive to learn how new technologies work.
You are socially skilled, fluent in professional English, and have a genuine customer-centric mindset.
You are proficient in the Dutch language.
You are present at the office at least 3 days per week.
If you don't meet all the requirements but are convinced you have the qualities for this role, we encourage you to apply anyway. We like to be convinced.
What do we offer?
At Payter, we believe a pleasant working environment is the foundation for success. Therefore, we offer you:
A catered lunch at the office, so you can enjoy a good break with colleagues.
25 vacation days to take ample time for relaxation.
12 Balance Days per year; every month you receive an extra day off for a healthy work-life balance.
An attractive pension scheme, where you only contribute 3.6% of the premium and Payter covers the largest portion.
Room for growth, with plenty of professional development opportunities and training.
An easily accessible office in Rotterdam.
