Job Description

As a Vault Custodian Armored/a, you work with your team to maintain inventory in our cash vaults for our clients at Loomis.

Responsibilities

• Verify identification numbers or seals on deposit bags and/or cargo against receipts that accompany each bag, or with manifests provided.
• Count articles, register quantities and serial numbers, sign and date receipts and manifests
• Load/unload platform wagons or dollies with cash bags
• Order individual load items by route
• Communicate verbally with coworkers and clients by phone.
• Other functions as assigned by management.
  
  

Requirements

• Ability to lift/load cash bags, checks, and coins that weigh an average of 50 pounds per item several times during a 6-10 hour shift, 5-6 days a week.
• Ability to push wagons, cars, “buggies”, “dollies” loaded with cargo that weighs up to several hundred pounds.
• Ability without restrictions to repeatedly bend, stoop, kneel, stand, walk, climb, turn, pivot and reach.
• Ability to perform repetitive lifting of articles that weigh an average of 50 pounds each from the floor.
• Ability to walk continuously between containers, vaults, cabins, and showcases.
• Ability to stand on concrete floor approximately 80% of the shift.
• Ability to sign and register numbers by hand and make entries in records and prepare reports.
• Ability to count, add, subtract, and balance columns of numbers.
• A valid firearms permit (Puerto Rico Firearms License) is required.
  
  

Work Conditions

• Work in a room within a vault with little or no exposure to exterior light
• The full-time schedule may consist potentially of an average of 40-50 hours/week, with a minimum of 5 days during a 6-day period. Requires working one day on the weekend.
  
  

Essential Duties/Certifications

Lift

As part of the performance evaluation process for the Vault Custodian position, a human performance evaluation (HPE) is required. This evaluation requires successful completion of tests in the following areas:

• Vertical lift of 25 pounds from 10 inches to 66 inches above floor level (1X)
  
  

Lift-Load

• Vertical lift of 18 pounds from 1 inch to 44 inches above floor level, and horizontal transfer of 15 feet (4X)
  
  

Push-Pull

• Horizontal transfer of 47 pounds of force in a hand truck (single arm, non-dominant), a distance of 1 foot (2X)
  
  

Repetitive Coupling

• Squeeze a manual dynamometer Jamar requiring up to 30 pounds per hand right and left (4X)
