CTO (m/f/d) – Tech Lead with Strategic Foresight & Hands-on Mentality

As Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will actively shape the technological future of ADCELL – the fastest-growing affiliate marketing network in the DACH region. You will be part of the management team and contribute significantly to making our platform more powerful, scalable, and innovation-driven.

With a clear vision for modern technologies and efficient team leadership, you will take overall responsibility for our technical strategy. You will further develop existing systems, drive the migration to future-proof architectures, and create the conditions for sustainable growth.

As the interface between software development, product management, DevOps, and business, you will lead a strong, agile tech team – and make technology the enabler of our long-term corporate vision: to connect advertisers and publishers digitally – intelligently, efficiently, and data-based.

Activities:

• Development and implementation of a future-proof tech and product strategy

• Strategic and operational leadership of our engineering team (currently 8 people), including coaching, scaling, and recruiting

• Modernization of the platform architecture – e.g., through microservices, cloud-native approaches

• Introduction and further development of modern development and deployment processes (CI/CD, automated tests, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code)

• Promotion of agile working methods such as Scrum, Kanban, or Lean Development

• Close collaboration with product management for user-centric feature development

• Responsibility for technical roadmaps, architectural decisions, and quality assurance

• Identification of relevant technology trends and their strategic evaluation

What you bring with you

You bring sound leadership experience in software development and know how to communicate technical concepts understandably. Even if you don't meet all requirements 100 percent, we still look forward to your application.

• Several years of experience in a technical leadership role, ideally in a growth-oriented product company

• Demonstrable success in modernizing complex legacy systems

• Deep technical know-how in modern web development (ideally PHP/Symfony, JavaScript/Angular)

• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructures

• Entrepreneurial thinking and ability to understand and use technology as a lever for business goals

• Passion for team building, coaching, and leadership

• Strong communication skills at C-level (strategic & operational)

• Very good German skills (min. C1) and fluent English
