Cross-Cultural Adaptation Technician

Ladgov Corp. is looking for a Cross Cultural Adaptation Technician to support our team at USAG Ansbach, Army Community Service (ACS), Relocation Readiness, Information and Referral, and Outreach programs during normal facility operating hours of 0730-1600 Monday through Friday (excluding U.S. Federal Holidays). The ideal candidate shall provide Relocation Program services to include Host Nation Orientation, Cultural Adaptation walking tours, translation, German and English as a Second Language classes for the USAG Ansbach and its surrounding areas of responsibility.

Duties

  • Host Nation Orientation and Walking Tour, a 2-day course that occurs every 2 weeks and provides cultural adaption services to help newcomers adjust to local German customs, courtesies, traditions, and language The Host Nation Orientation tour shall consist of a day-1 classroom session with an instructional overview, and a day-2 walking tour through Ansbach to explain area information, cultural differences, and the actual use of public transportation. During the tour and if no restrictions are in place from the host nation regarding patronage of restaurants, the Contractor shall coordinate lunch at a local German restaurant where tour participants will learn differences between restaurant culture, menu reading, ordering, and tipping.
  • Basic Conversational German Class, a 1-1.5 hour session held twice per week and consists of two, 8 sessions classes that occur five times per contract year. Topics include basics of the German language, to include the alphabet, numbers, colors, basic greetings, directions, eating out, and other topics to help new learners understand the basics of the German language.
  • English as a Second Language (ESL) Class, a 1-1.5 hour session held once per week and consists of 8 sessions that occur five times per contract year. Topics include basics of the English language, to include the alphabet, numbers, colors, basic greetings, directions, eating out, and other topics to help new learners understand the basics of the English language.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 (one) year of experience in customer service-oriented tasks.
  • Minimum of 1 (one) year of experience working with military families or community outreach programs
  • Shall possess German language knowledge at the C2 level
