Critical Environment Ops ATR-C - Night Shift

Overview As a Critical Environment Technician (CET) in Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (COI) team, you will maintain the critical infrastructure that keeps our Datacenters up and running. This could be anything from coordinating with supplier/vendors, recognizing safe versus unsafe work environment, having a hands-on understanding of how critical environment equipment works, performing various types of maintenance, responding to onsite incidents while coordinating with other critical infrastructure teams, or providing remote support. This is a fast-paced environment that requires a strong attention to detail and ability to work as a team and autonomously. Responsibilities * Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot critical infrastructure equipment in data center environments, including but not limited to: power distribution units (PDUs), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), generators, switchgear, air handling units (AHUs), computer room air conditioners (CRACs), chillers, and associated control systems. * Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on critical infrastructure equipment, adhering to established procedures and schedules. * Respond to and resolve incidents related to critical infrastructure equipment, escalating issues as necessary and documenting all activities. * Collaborate with other teams, such as engineering, construction, and IT, to ensure the smooth operation of data center infrastructure. * Adhere to safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. * Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, incidents, and equipment status. * Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent. * Minimum of 2+ years of experience in critical environment operations, data center operations, or a related field. * Strong understanding of critical infrastructure equipment, including power distribution units (PDUs), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), generators, switchgear, air handling units (AHUs), computer room air conditioners (CRACs), chillers, and associated control systems. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals. * Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. * Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds). * Ability to work a night shift schedule. * Ability to pass a background check. * Relevant certifications, such as a Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP) or similar, are a plus.
