Job description
As a Credit Controller at Cromwell Polythene Ltd, you will be an integral part of our finance team, responsible for managing customer accounts and ensuring timely collection of payments. Your role will contribute to the maintenance of healthy cash flow and support the overall financial health of the business. You will engage with various stakeholders, handling communications regarding outstanding balances and disputes while building strong relationships with customers to facilitate prompt payment. Key Responsibilities: * Proactively contact customers to follow up on outstanding invoices, using various communication methods (phone, email, letter). * Maintain accurate records of all collection activities and customer interactions. * Investigate and resolve customer queries regarding invoices and payments. * Monitor customer credit limits and creditworthiness, escalating concerns as necessary. * Identify and escalate overdue accounts, initiating appropriate collection procedures. * Negotiate payment plans with customers where appropriate. * Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies. * Prepare and distribute monthly statements. * Assist with the preparation of aged debt reports. * Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to resolve customer issues. * Ensure compliance with company credit control policies and procedures. Skills and Experience: * Proven experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role. * Excellent communication and negotiation skills. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. * Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, SAP) is desirable. * Strong organisational and time management skills.
