Kitchen Assistant - Refeitório Sabor do Copa

Daily Tasks:

• Assist in the execution of the menu according to the daily programming;
• Attend to menu requests through the order;
• Inspect the receipt of goods in the absence of the chef;
• Control the inventory of goods, rotating materials, and kitchen equipment in the absence of the chef;
• Care for the conservation and maintenance of equipment and materials used;
• Communicate to the immediate superior any irregularities found in the quality of the goods delivered for cooking, as well as the need for repair and replacement of utensils, equipment, and kitchen installations;
• Receive and store foodstuffs properly;
• Apply basic principles of cleanliness, hygiene, and food utilization;
• Wash, dry, and store utensils;
• Assist in the cleaning of dishes, utensils, and the kitchen in general;
• Care for the conservation of stored foods, providing the necessary conditions to avoid deterioration and losses;
• Make the cleaning and preparation of fruits and vegetables;
• Assist in the control of the expiration date of foods;
• Care for personal appearance: hair cut and clean, mouth hygiene, nails cut and clean, uniform passed and clean, according to instructions received in the Hotel Belmond Copacabana Palace manual;
• Ensure the cleanliness of the location and equipment;
• Maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness;
• Organize the “mise en place” of the kitchen;
• Participate in training programs, when called;
• Care for individual and collective safety, using appropriate protective equipment, when performing services;
• Execute treatment and disposal of waste materials from your work location;
• Participate in sector meetings, briefings, internal events, and development sessions proposed by the hotel;
• Contribute to the safety of the hotel, clients, and colleagues.

Requirements:

• Completed high school education.

• Desirable experience of at least 1 year in the same function or similar position in restaurants.
• Desirable knowledge in Food Safety.
• Availability to work on a 5x2 schedule.
