Cover Supervisor – Alternative Provision (Full-Time) Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday Location: Burnley Salary: Dependent on skills and experience We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Cover Supervisor to join our Alternative Provision setting. This is a full-time role supporting students with a range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absence, delivering work set by the class teacher, and ensuring a positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Supervise classes of students in the absence of the assigned teacher. Deliver pre-prepared lessons and activities provided by the absent teacher. Manage student behaviour and maintain a positive and safe learning environment. Provide support to students with diverse needs, including those with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. Follow school policies and procedures. Collect completed work and provide feedback to the class teacher. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and behaviour. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents/guardians. Contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the school. Requirements: Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting. Ability to manage challenging behaviour and create a positive learning environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow instructions and deliver pre-prepared lessons. Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students. Good organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Relevant qualifications (e.g., GCSEs, A-Levels) are desirable.
