About the Role
We are looking for an experienced counsellor to join our multi-disciplinary team based in our Hamilton office and working across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions. You will be supporting our adult and youth clients to make a positive change in their lives through:
- Conducting assessments and delivering interventions from a wider systemic and socio-ecological perspective.
- Using your clinical expertise to provide a range of therapeutic interventions, including individual and group work.
- Effectively managing own caseload and administrative requirements.
- Initiating and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders to best support the client.
- Bringing hope and making a sustainable difference to individuals, families and their communities!
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- A current registration with either the New Zealand Association of Counsellors, New Zealand Christian Counsellors Association, or the NZ Psychologists Board.
- Understanding of the key frameworks and clinical practices in the area of sexual harm.
- Experience with assessment and intervention for concerning or harmful sexual behaviours and/or family violence.
- The ability to form strong, client centered therapeutic alliances with clients and their families/whanau.
- Strong clinical report writing skills and an ability to conceptualise and formulate case intervention plans.
- A positive and non-judgmental attitude towards our clients.
- Skills and experience working with clients with neurodivergences and/or intellectual disabilities would be an advantage.
- Based in Hamilton, you must be able to travel regularly across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions.
What we offer
Safe Network offers a unique career opportunity in the area of working with harmful sexual behaviour, where you will be supported by generous professional development opportunities and supervision, and the ability to expand on your specialised knowledge and experience in an area of growing demand.
In addition, we offer a competitive remuneration package, including employer-funded insurance for all staff for health, critical illness and income protection and EAP. Although we are advertising a full-time position, we would also consider reduced hours, such as 32 hours per week.
