Cost Engineering Manager (gn)

Our client is an internationally successful, medium-sized industrial company with high technological expertise and demanding customer projects. The company develops and produces complex, customer-specific solutions for international markets and is one of the established providers in its segment.

As part of its continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Cost Engineering Manager (gn) on an exclusive basis. In this key position, you will be responsible for the economic evaluation of demanding products and projects, develop robust cost models, and create sound decision-making bases for sales, engineering, and management.

Responsibilities

• Independent preparation of economic calculations and cost analyses for demanding customer and development projects
• Analysis of technical documents and derivation of economic manufacturing and implementation concepts
• Determination and evaluation of manufacturing costs, taking into account relevant material, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and overhead costs
• Development of transparent decision-making bases for sales, project management, and management
• Conducting profitability analyses and evaluating product and process changes in terms of their cost effects
• Performing post-calculations and analyzing plan-actual deviations for continuous improvement of calculation quality
• Identification of cost potentials and development of economic action alternatives in close coordination with the specialist departments
• Maintenance and continuous development of calculation methods, cost models, and relevant calculation bases
• Technical support for adjacent company areas on cost-related issues and strategic investment and procurement decisions
• Close cooperation with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Supply Chain, and Controlling

Qualifications

• Successfully completed technical training with appropriate further education (e.g., technician) or a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Technology, or a comparable field of study
• Several years of professional experience in Cost Engineering, technical costing, or product cost calculation in a manufacturing industrial company
• In-depth understanding of industrial manufacturing processes and complex cost and value chain structures
• Proficient in handling technical drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation
• Experience with ERP systems and very good knowledge of MS Excel; experience with costing or BI tools is an advantage
• Analytical mindset, strong understanding of numbers, and a structured, independent way of working
• Strong communication skills and the ability to prepare complex economic relationships in an understandable way and communicate them across departments
• Fluent German and very good English skills, both written and spoken
