Cost Controller - Projects (2-year fixed term contract)

The Waihi North Project is for a new gold mine, 10km north of the existing site in Waihi. It is currently going through the governments' "fast track" consenting process and construction has begun. The Cost Controller is responsible for project cost control reporting for all work relating to this project. In conjunction with providing a variety of other duties in order to support wider OceanaGold project delivery.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the tracking of project costs and preparing reports to ensure the team stay on budget.
• Support the setup and maintenance of cost tracking systems.
• Assist with month end financial reporting tasks like forecasting and cost vs budget reporting.
• Work with the Project Controls Engineer to review cost data and identify any issues.
• Manage cost variations and support the team with financial documentation.
• Collaborate with project and contract managers to understand cost drivers and assumptions.
• Provide support to Project Controls Manager, project managers and business leaders when requested
• Build and maintain effective relationships in order to retain a high performance workforce through engagement, communication and motivation.
