The Team

The Auckland corporate team includes 3 Partners, 1 Special Counsel, 1 Senior Associate, and 2 Solicitors, within a wider group of 8 Partners and 30 lawyers. The team is highly collaborative and works closely with colleagues in Australia and globally.

The Role

As a Solicitor with 1–2 years’ PQE, you will gain exposure to high-value corporate transactions, acting for clients in New Zealand and offshore. Work includes:

• Cross-border M&A and investment transactions, including those requiring Overseas Investment Act (OIA) consent
• Joint ventures and commercial contracts
• Foreign investment and regulatory approvals
• Competition and regulatory issues
• Transactions in the energy and natural resources sectors
• Corporate advisory matters across forestry, agriculture, wine, food processing, insurance, financial services, technology, and venture capital

This role will allow you to develop strong technical skills, gain international exposure, and build sector knowledge, particularly in the energy and primary industries.

About You

• New Zealand or Australian qualified lawyer
• 1–2 years’ PQE in corporate/commercial law, ideally from a top-tier or reputable firm
• Strong academic record
• Excellent drafting and analytical skills
• Commercially aware, adaptable, and motivated to grow your career
