The Firm

This international top-tier law firm is recognised for advising on complex and high-value corporate transactions across multiple industries. With a strong global presence, the firm provides exposure to international clients, cross-border deals, and collaboration across jurisdictions, particularly with Australia.
The Team

The Auckland corporate practice comprises 3 Partners, 1 Special Counsel, 1 Senior Associate, and 2 Solicitors. The wider corporate group includes 8 Partners and 30 lawyers. The team advises across sectors including forestry, agriculture, energy, food processing, insurance and financial services, technology, and venture capital.
The Role

As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in managing significant transactions and supporting the leadership of the corporate team. You will be expected to mentor junior lawyers, provide commercial solutions to clients, and contribute to the growth of the practice. Work includes:
  • Leading cross-border M&A and investment transactions, including OIA applications
  • Advising on corporate law, joint ventures, and commercial contracts
  • Managing regulatory and competition law matters
  • Advising on transactions in the energy and natural resources sectors
  • Acting for international clients across diverse industries, with a particular focus on the primary sector and forestry assets
About You
  • New Zealand or Australian qualified lawyer
  • 4–8 years’ PQE in corporate/commercial law, ideally gained at a top-tier or international firm
  • Proven ability to manage transactions and workstreams independently
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Commercially astute with a global mindset
  • Genuine interest in the energy and natural resources sector
