WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR As a Product Development Coordinator, you will support the entire material development cycle for our fast-growing US Off-Price segment. You will play a key role in fabric innovation, raw material research, global costing, sample management and performance testing. You will work closely with the Sourcing, Design, Quality Control, Marketing teams, as well as our international suppliers. This role is strategic in the development of our material, price and sourcing intelligence. RESPONSIBILITIES Global costs, benchmarking and price intelligence
- Manage cost requests from suppliers in China, Pakistan, India, Cambodia and Vietnam
- Benchmark global costs of materials, trims, elastics, packaging and contribution margins (CM)
- Analyze yarn trends, dyeing/printing surcharges, customs duties, landed cost models and supplier competitiveness
- Develop cost dashboards and maintain the supplier cost intelligence database
- Support negotiations using factual comparisons (rates, duties, transportation)
- Provide accurate costing estimates upstream of development
- Lead the development of new fabrics (knits, performance finishes, innovations)
- Collaborate with spinning mills and factories on yarns, blends, finishes and performance properties
- Review prototype fabrics for construction, performance, stretch recovery, shrinkage and hand feel
- Approve lab dips and strike-offs; document and track prototype fabric submissions
- Build and maintain a complete US Off-Price fabric library (fiber composition, construction, supplier, performance, cost levels, MOQ, lead times)
- Align fabric standards with the Canadian R&D and design development teams
- Develop elastics (jacquard, heat transfer, printed, brushed)
- Collaborate with suppliers of woven, printed and heat-seal labels
- Research and recommend new trims and materials suitable for Off-Price programs
- Validate performance and cost feasibility for all trims and elastics
- Track all development samples (fabrics, trims, elastics) and manage approvals
- Prepare fabric samples for sales presentations
- Coordinate sample availability with suppliers for sales, photo and packaging samples
- Ensure the accuracy and availability of materials for photo sample production
- Prepare swatch boards and specification sheets
- Track fabric and trim submissions at all stages using a development dashboard
- Initiate all fabric testing (pilling, shrinkage, colorfastness, stretch recovery, moisture wicking, burst strength, snag tests, etc.)
- Coordinate with Quality Control and suppliers to ensure that production materials are tested and comply with brand standards
- Review, organize and archive test reports (TRF); proactively report issues
- Maintain test summaries by material
- Excellent understanding of fabrics (knits and wovens), yarns, construction, finishes and performance properties
- Experience with trims, elastics, labels and ornaments
- Solid intuition in terms of costs, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, costing models, data analysis) and familiarity with PLM/ERP systems (BlueCherry is a plus)
- Knowledge of fabric testing standards (AATCC, ASTM) and ease in reading TRF reports
- Highly organized, rigorous, able to manage several developments simultaneously

- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, costing models, data analysis) and familiarity with PLM/ERP systems (Blue Cherry is a plus).
- Knowledge of fabric testing standards (AATCC, ASTM) and comfort reviewing TRFs.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple developments simultaneously.
- Strong communicator with excellent follow-up, especially with overseas suppliers.
