Coordinating Officer, Health, Safety, Security, Environment

The Coordinating Officer SSSE is responsible for deploying, implementing, and following up on activities, programs, and procedures related to workplace health and safety, emergency measures, and environmental protection within the operational sites to which he is attached. The coordinator may occasionally be called upon to travel outside the region.

Working closely with the management team in maritime terminals as well as with SSSE corporate team members, the Coordinating Officer ensures the adoption of best practices leading to achieving health and safety at work and sustainable development goals. He participates in local health and safety committees and provides support to operational groups in maritime terminals.

He coordinates the implementation and deployment of PMU and acts as a Maritime Safety Agent (ASIM) within the operational sites to which he is attached. Additionally, he also serves as a trainer for operation personnel and managers for deploying training programs on SSSE topics. Finally, he actively participates in continuous improvement projects related to SSSE.

DAILY TASKS WILL INCLUDE :

• Conducting SSSE compliance audits;
• SUPPORTING operational teams to facilitate the application of standards, programs, and procedures in SSSE;
• SUPPORTING the development of safe working methods and their deployment;
• SUPPORTING local teams in conducting on-site investigations in the event of an accident or incident related to SSSE;
• Ensuring the maintenance of up-to-date safety plans and emergency management, including personnel sensitization, preparation, and coordination of exercises;
• Controlling the application of operational procedures on site, verifying the adequacy between procedure and operational reality, and following up on requests for creation and modification;
• Participating in SSSE training needs assessments,
• Participating actively in risk assessment by maintaining up-to-date tracking tables and aligning standard operating procedures (SOP);
• Assisting site managers in developing and implementing action plans;
• Collaborating on establishing site-specific action plans to address problems, reduce risks, meet objectives, and comply with standards;
• Participating in organizing and animating SSSE activities such as corporate and local seminars or health and safety month.

TO SUCCEED :

• Certificate or degree in a relevant field (industrial hygiene, industrial relations, industrial engineering, etc.)
• 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in setting up processes and programs SSSE, ideally in the manufacturing, maritime, or logistics sectors
• Solid teamwork skills
• Customer focus
• Knowledge of applicable laws, standards, and regulations related to health-safety, security, and environment
• Ability to use specific software relevant to his field of expertise
• Availability for occasional travel to other terminals
