We are looking for a skilled and passionate Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team on a full-time basis (40 hours/week) with an immediate start.

About the Role

As a Cook at The Sassy Italian Restaurant, you will play a key role in preparing and serving high-quality meals and maintaining our reputation for authentic Italian flavors. You will support kitchen operations, assist with menu development, and ensure consistent food quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve meals for lunch and dinner services, including pizzas, pastas, and other Italian dishes
• Assist with daily kitchen operations and support the Chef and team
• Follow standard recipes, portion guidelines, and cooking methods to maintain quality
• Help with menu planning, recipe development, and new dish preparation
• Ensure proper food presentation and adherence to hygiene and safety standards
• Estimate ingredient needs and assist with stock management
• Train, supervise, and support junior kitchen staff as needed
• Enforce kitchen health, safety, and food handling regulations

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cook in a professional kitchen
• Skilled in food preparation, kitchen organization, and time management
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Passion for Italian cuisine
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with the kitchen team
• Detail-oriented, motivated, and eager to grow professionally

Skills

• Proficient in preparing and cooking a range of dishes including pizzas, pastas, and simple desserts
• Food presentation and garnishing
• Multiple cooking methods: frying, roasting, baking, grilling, stewing
• Teamwork and ability to support junior staff
• Time management and multitasking in a busy kitchen
• Ability to follow recipes and portion guidelines accurately
