Position: Cook
Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 plus Superannuation
Term: Permanent, Full-time

Key Responsibilities
As a full-time Cook your duties will include:
- Selecting and checking ingredients to ensure they meet MACG quality, safety, and nutritional standards.
- Operating and managing ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment, including monitoring and adjusting temperatures as required.
- Preparing and cooking meals for residents in line with approved menus and care plans.
- Enhancing meals through appropriate use of seasonings while maintaining nutritional balance.
- Serving meals by accurately portioning food, plating dishes, and finishing with suitable sauces, gravies, and garnishes.
- Storing food correctly in refrigerated and temperature-controlled environments in accordance with food safety and infection control policies.
- Preparing meals that cater to individual dietary needs, including texture-modified diets, allergies, medical conditions, and cultural preferences.
- Assisting with menu planning and estimating food requirements to support efficient meal service across MACG facilities.
- Supporting the training and day-to-day guidance of kitchen staff and apprentices to maintain consistent service standards.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant qualifications in cookery, hospitality, or kitchen management. Equivalent industry experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications.
- Proven experience in a similar role within aged care, healthcare, or hospitality.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and dietary requirements.
- Ability to plan, prepare, and present nutritious and appealing meals.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills with a collaborative approach.
- Genuine passion for creating a positive dining experience for residents.
