Contracts Specialist (2 Positions) Pilbara Ports

Pilbara Ports are now looking for 2 Contracts Specialists based in the Perth CBD. Join the world’s largest bulk export port authority and make a difference!

Your job title will be Customer Business Specialist within the Customer and Strategy Team. The key part of your role will be negotiating, developing and reviewing commercial contracts and lease agreements.

You will be responsible for ensuring that customer’s port, lease and commercial agreements are negotiated, executed and administered in compliance with Pilbara Ports management systems, legal and statutory requirements and commercial obligations.

You will collaborate with teams across Pilbara Ports and will also be involved in driving market and trade intelligence across the business.

The Role

Key aspects of your Customer Business Specialist role will include:

• Negotiating terms and conditions for new Port agreements including Infrastructure Development Agreements, Port Facilities Agreements, Multi-User Agreements, Third Party Access Deeds and Investigation Licences and Leases.
• Negotiating, developing and reviewing commercial contracts and lease agreements including variations to existing agreements in accordance with the Pilbara Ports delegations.
• Drafting general commercial correspondence, variations and standard agreements.
• Providing commercial support to Greenfield and Brownfield port projects.
• Undertaking risk assessments and managing risk in accordance with Pilbara Ports’ risk management framework for Customer and Strategy Projects and associated agreements.
• Managing port and lease agreements to ensure that Pilbara Ports’ commercial objectives and desirables are met.
• Managing lease and license inspections including actioning items to remedy defaults.
• Identifying, monitoring and analysing environmental and customer scanning metrics that may impact Port trade and its operations to provide useful insights.
• Assisting in driving market and trade intelligence across the business.

This is a permanent full-time role in a welcoming and busy team. The Customer Business Specialists report into the Customer Managers.


About You

This role is ideally suited to contract and commercial professionals from a range of industries including resources, construction, law and local & state government. Tertiary qualifications in one of business, commerce or law will be highly regarded.

You will have a pro-active and positive approach and enjoy working with a diverse range of people in a high paced environment. Your communication and interpersonal skills will be at a high level, allowing you to build productive relationships both internally and with outside stakeholders. You will have strong written communication skills and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
