Chief Accountant

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Chief Accountant to join our financial department team. Szallas Group, a travel platform operator in the CEE region, is in an expansion phase and growing on the domestic tourism market in Romania. To support this growth and ensure continuous accurate and timely reporting, we are seeking a Chief Accountant.

Key Responsibilities

Fiscal & Reporting
• Preparation and submission of all recurring tax declarations
• Review of fiscal records and SAF-T, ensuring compliance with Romanian fiscal legislation
• Preparation of profit tax calculation and supporting documents
• Elaboration of responses to ANAF requests and management of communication with fiscal authorities
• Management of income taxes from premiums and local tax declarations
• Review of sales journals and reconciliations of VAT

Statistical & Regulatory Reporting

• Preparation of quarterly reports for BNR (international services trade, capital transfers, group transactions)
• Preparation of annual reports for INS (labor costs, tourism agency activity)
• Management of SICAP platform deposits for public sector clients
• Obtaining official documents from the Commercial Register (RECOM), as needed
• Monitoring and renewal of operating permits, insurance policies (tourism agencies and vehicles)
Organizational & Administrative Coordination

• Supervision of correct archival of accounting documents and maintenance of accounting files
• Coordinating and reviewing monthly accounting operations and solving discrepancies and operational problems with banks or suppliers
• Developing and measuring performance indicators for the team and promoting process improvements
• Collaboration with external auditors and financial service providers

Studies & Skills
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics; ACCA or CPA in progress represents an advantage
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the field or a related field
• Relevant experience and knowledge in RAS
• Solid knowledge of Romanian fiscal and accounting legislation
• Advanced reporting and analysis skills
• Advanced Excel skills (written and spoken)
• Proactive and result-oriented
• Team management skills
• Analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Good communication skills
