Job description

Do you read funding guidelines voluntarily to the end and can turn complex funding conditions into understandable guidance for companies?

With us, you won't take over an existing specialist area, but rather build up the topic of funding and financing for business succession yourself. Together with project management, you will develop the professional orientation and decide which funding and financing questions we will address and how reliable information offerings will be created from them. You will work closely with our finance and M&A expertise and contribute your knowledge yourself in workshops and events.

What it's about: Every year, tens of thousands of small and medium-sized enterprises in Germany face the question of succession. If it remains unresolved, businesses, jobs, knowledge, and regional value creation disappear. We want to help preserve this backbone of the German economy and support businesses in successfully preparing and implementing business successions with understandable information offerings and practical events.

About Us: NDF is the brand of Key Progress Makers Advisory GmbH specializing in funding. We primarily work with startups and innovative companies that develop new products, technologies, or business models and are looking for suitable financing options for them. We help them identify funding potential and structure demanding projects so that an idea can become a viable project. We are now bringing this experience into our own publicly funded project on the topic of business succession.

Framework Conditions: The position comprises 39 hours per week. We work hybrid and plan an average of two to three joint office days per week in Berlin. The start date is as soon as possible, ideally in September 2026.

Tasks

  • You develop workshops, information offerings, and digital guidance on funding and financing for business successions
  • You convey complex funding and financing topics understandably in workshops, events, and professional formats
  • You research and analyze grants, funding loans, guarantees, surety bonds, and other public financing instruments for business successions, investments, and operational transformations
  • You develop content for the project website, the digital platform, and other publicly accessible information formats
  • You work closely with the specialist responsible for financing and M&A and demonstrate how public and private financing components can fundamentally work together

Qualification

  • At least three years of practical experience with funding programs or public financing instruments – for example, in consulting, application, examination, approval, or implementation
  • Sound business and financial understanding
  • Experience with funding offerings for small and medium-sized enterprises, for example, in the areas of innovation, digitalization, investments, transformation, energy efficiency, or business succession
  • The ability to independently research, examine, classify funding conditions, and communicate complex financial topics understandably and practically
  • Experience in the conception or execution of workshops, information formats, or professional events is an advantage, but not a prerequisite
  • Very good German language skills and confident professional communication
  • A structured, conscientious, and independent way of working
  • A reflective approach to digital research tools, automation, and AI

A specific degree is not decisive for us. We are interested in which funding and financing topics you have already worked with, what responsibility you have taken on yourself, and how you have achieved reliable results. It is also important to us that you approach new questions with initiative and genuine willingness to shape.

You can bring suitable experience from, for example, a development bank, guarantee bank, economic development agency, bank, consultancy, or funding management. It is not important that you know every funding program by heart. You should know how to find relevant instruments, reliably check their prerequisites, and prepare the results understandably for people without a funding background.

Benefits

  • The opportunity to help shape a new project from the beginning and implement your own ideas
  • Direct collaboration with project management and short coordination paths
  • An interdisciplinary team with expertise in business succession, startups, and financing
  • Mobile working with joint presence in Berlin, coordinated with project phase and event calendar
  • Occasional nationwide travel as well as individual evening appointments, which are planned well in advance and compensated for in terms of time
  • A work culture in which we set priorities realistically, compensate for overtime, and address difficulties early
  • The prospect of continuing to work together after the three-year project duration and taking on additional professional responsibility

The role is a good fit for you if…

… you enjoy thoroughly exploring complex funding and financing issues and then explaining them so that even people without a financial background can understand them.

… you enjoy helping companies make sound financing decisions and achieve economic success with your knowledge.

… you wish for a modern, appreciative collaboration and enjoy applying your professional work to a project whose social and economic benefit is immediately apparent.

How to Apply

First, send us your CV. If your profile fits us, we will invite you for an initial get-to-know-you meeting. This will be followed by a professional exchange; if necessary, we will supplement the process with a short and clearly defined practical task. After each step, you will receive feedback within a few working days.

Planned Start: as soon as possible, ideally in September 2026.

We welcome applications regardless of gender and gender identity, ethnic or social origin, nationality, religion or belief, disability, age, or sexual identity. Competence, motivation, and the perspective you bring to the project are decisive.
