Consultant R&D & Innovation

We are looking for a consultant for our team, who will work at the intersection of technology, research and development, analysis, and taxation.

The role involves understanding clients' technical projects, identifying activities that can be classified as research and development, and transforming technical, financial, and organizational information into coherent, well-argued, and verifiable documentation.

We are primarily looking for analytical skills, technical curiosity, rigor, and very good writing abilities.

The Profile We Are Looking For

• University degree in technical, economic, or a field relevant to consulting activities;

• Minimum 2 years of experience in consulting, audit, R&D/innovation, IT/engineering, or project management;

• Ability to understand complex technical projects: software, digital platforms, systems, infrastructures, processes, and technological solutions;

• Very good analytical, synthesis, and structuring skills for large volumes of information;

• Ability to ask the right questions to technical interlocutors and identify missing or insufficiently documented information;

• Very good professional writing skills in Romanian;

• English language proficiency sufficient to understand technical and professional documentation;

• High attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to work with formal documentation and supporting evidence.

An Advantage Would Be

Experience in R&D consulting, innovation, tax incentives, audit, grants/funding, technical documentation, software development, or engineering projects.

Knowledge of French is also an advantage.

You will analyze clients' technological projects and initiatives to identify activities that can be classified as research and development and to build the necessary documentation to justify them.

Specifically, responsibilities include:

• discussions and working interviews with technical, financial, and management teams;

• analysis of software, technical, and engineering projects and understanding their evolution;

• identification and documentation of experimental development activities;

• reconstitution of the experimental process: initial state, technical difficulties and uncertainties, hypotheses formulated, alternatives analyzed, iterations/tests performed, and results obtained;

• distinguishing R&D activities from standard development, implementation, integration, maintenance, support, QA, or other operational activities;

• correlating technical activities with involved teams, work periods, deliverables, and associated expenses;

• drafting and reviewing project descriptions, analysis reports, and supporting documentation;

• verifying the consistency between technical, financial information, and supporting documents;

• participation in the preparation of files for R&D tax incentives, expert opinions/audits, and other innovation funding projects;

• tracking project progress and identifying information or evidence that needs to be supplemented.

The activity involves applying the relevant legal and methodological framework for research and development projects and related tax incentives.
