Where you’ll be working
You will be working at the major rural referral centre and acute care hospital in the region. This NSW hospital has recently completed a $250 million dollar redevelopment plan and now includes a new, three-storey clinical building, new wards for surgical services, new inpatient ward, birthing suite, renal dialysis unit, new operating theatres and a specialised sterilising department. The investment has also allowed for an upgrade to the existing facilities as well as new, state-of-the-art medical equipment to support the expansion of health service delivery to the region. This 160-bed facility is a teaching hospital, affiliated with the University of Sydney.

You will be an integral part of a cohesive and dynamic multidisciplinary team who strive for the consistent provision of clinical excellence for the community they serve. The Paediatric Department is supported by 3 Paediatric Advanced Trainees seconded from the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network, as well as one local Paediatric Trainee, allowing plentiful opportunities for teaching. This hospital has a 13 bed Child & Adolescent Unit, an 8-12 bed, level 4 Special Care Nursery and an Aboriginal Maternal and Infant health service. Here, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the provision of healthcare to vulnerable patients while benefitting professionally from a full and varying casemix.

Salary information
Consultant Paediatricians can expect a total remuneration of $179,078 - $220,986 per annum, plus benefits.

Requirements
Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent.
