Job description
Do you combine analytical company valuation with a clear view of actual financial feasibility?
This is precisely the kind of connection we want to make understandable for people who are preparing for business succession but do not have an M&A background themselves. To achieve this, you will build the subject areas of financing, company valuation, and M&A from scratch in a new nationwide project. Together with the project management, you will develop the professional direction and decide how complex economic questions can be turned into reliable information offerings. You will work closely with our funding expertise and contribute your knowledge to workshops and events.
What it's all about: Every year, tens of thousands of small and medium-sized enterprises in Germany face the question of succession. If it remains unresolved, businesses, jobs, knowledge, and regional value creation disappear. We want to contribute to preserving this backbone of the German economy and support businesses in successfully preparing and implementing company successions with understandable information offerings and practical events. A particular focus is on business successions by employees – so-called Employee Buyouts (EBO) – as well as cooperative ownership models.
About us: NDF is the brand of Key Progress Makers Advisory GmbH specializing in funding. We mainly work with startups and innovative companies that develop new products, technologies, or business models and are looking for suitable financing options. We help them identify funding potential and structure ambitious projects so that an idea can become a viable project. We are now bringing this experience into our own publicly funded project focused on business succession.
Framework Conditions: The position comprises 19.5 hours per week. Working hours can be flexibly distributed by arrangement. Start is as soon as possible, ideally in September 2026.
Tasks
- You will develop workshops, information offerings, and digital orientation guides on company valuation, financing, and M&A for business successions
- You will convey complex economic and financial relationships yourself in workshops, events, and professional formats
- You will develop understandable case studies on company value, purchase price, capital requirements, liquidity, and economic viability
- You will prepare typical valuation methods, financing models, deal structures, and transaction phases in a practical manner
- You will develop content for the project website, the digital platform, and other publicly accessible information formats
- You will work closely with the specialist responsible for funding and demonstrate how public and private financing components can generally work together
Qualification
- At least 3 years of practical experience in M&A, Corporate Finance, Business Financing, Transaction Advisory, or Business Succession
- In-depth experience with company valuation and financing models
- Confident handling of annual financial statements, business performance analyses, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets
- A very good understanding of capital requirements, liquidity, debt service capacity, and economic viability
- Experience with small and/or medium-sized enterprises and an understanding of the specific characteristics of owner-managed businesses
- The ability to communicate complex valuation, financing, and transaction issues clearly and practically
- Experience in designing and conducting workshops, information formats, or professional events
- Very good German and confident professional communication
- A structured, diligent, and independent work style
- A reflective approach to digital analysis tools, financial models, and AI
A specific academic degree is not decisive for us. We are interested in which transactions, financings, or valuation projects you have already worked on, what responsibility you took on yourself, and how you arrived at reliable results. It is also important to us that you approach new issues with initiative and a genuine desire to shape things.
You can bring suitable experience from M&A, Corporate Finance, Transaction Advisory, a bank, an investment company, or succession consulting, for example. Knowledge of employee buyouts or cooperative ownership models is an advantage, but not a prerequisite. It is important that you document assumptions comprehensibly, clearly identify economic risks, and communicate even complex financial topics in a way that is not unnecessarily off-putting.
Benefits
- The opportunity to actively build a project from the start and implement your own ideas with considerable scope for design
- Direct collaboration with project management and short communication channels
- An interdisciplinary team with expertise in financing, funding, marketing, and event management
- Mobile working and an anticipated 1 to 2 joint office days per week in Berlin
- Occasional nationwide travel for workshops, events, and networking meetings
- A work culture in which we set realistic priorities, compensate for overtime, and address difficulties early on
- The prospect of continuing to work together and taking on additional professional responsibility even after the approved project duration until June 30, 2029
The role is a good fit for you if…
… you thoroughly grasp complex economic contexts and then explain them so that people without M&A or financing experience can understand them.
… you enjoy helping companies make viable decisions and achieve economic success with your knowledge.
… you wish for modern, appreciative collaboration and enjoy applying your professional work to a project whose societal and economic benefit is immediately apparent.
How to apply
First, send us your CV. If your profile fits, we will invite you for an initial introductory meeting. This will be followed by a professional exchange; if necessary, we will supplement the process with a short and clearly defined practical task. You will receive feedback after each step within a few working days.
Planned Start: as soon as possible, ideally in September 2026.
We welcome applications regardless of gender and gender identity, ethnic or social origin, nationality, religion or belief, disability, age, or sexual identity. Your competence, motivation, and the perspective you bring to the project are decisive.
