Accounting Advisor or Consultant

The Confederation of National Trade Unions is currently looking for a accounting advisor or consultant for a temporary position in Montreal. SUMMARY OF JOB TASKS

1. Ensure, organize, and perform various accounting and financial management tasks using appropriate systems or software.
2. Play a consulting role with the treasurer or controller.
3. Collaborate on information and training for the treasurer or controller.
4. Supervise and ensure the implementation, understanding, and application of generally recognized accounting principles and ensure compliance with accounting methods used.
5. Set up accounting systems to analyze financial statements and budget forecasts. Make recommendations and reports on financial matters.
6. Ensure the accounting management of the treasury: current account management; placement management (maturities and renewals); credit margin management for the organization.
7. Approve disbursements and accounting entries.
8. Supervise activities related to payroll or production of various government reports for your organization.
9. Prepare financial statements to allow verification and ensure follow-up with an external firm or surveillance committee.
10. In collaboration with the treasurer or controller, produce periodic financial statements and prepare budget forecasts.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business administration) or equivalent.
• Very good knowledge of the French language.
• Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, preparing financial statements and budget forecasts.
• Autonomy, initiative, judgment, ability to work as a team and with precision and speed.
• Sense of responsibility.
• Availability.
• Adhesion to the trade union movement.
