Confined Space Labourer

To be successful, you must have previous industrial labouring experience, be physically fit, and capable of working 12-hour shifts in a demanding shutdown environment.

A strong commitment to health and safety is essential, with the ability to follow procedures, adhere to permit requirements, and work safely in confined spaces.

• Previous industrial labouring experience in a heavy industrial, construction, shutdown, or maintenance environment.
• Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, with safety always the number one priority.
• Proven ability to follow instructions, adhere to procedures, and work safely in high-risk environments.
• Physically fit and capable of performing demanding manual work for extended periods.
• Team-focused attitude with the ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including day and night shift rotations where required.
• Confined Space Entry and relevant site safety qualifications are a must.

Candidates must be reliable, able to work as part of a team, and comfortable performing physically demanding tasks while maintaining a high level of safety awareness at all times.

As a successful candidate you will:

• Have the relevant CSE qualification
• Hold the right to work/live in NZ
• Pass pre-employment requirements
• have experience in the industrial environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform industrial labouring duties during shutdown operations, including cleaning, manual handling, equipment setup, and site maintenance activities.

• Safely enter and work within confined spaces in accordance with permits, procedures, and site requirements.

• Assist supervisors, operators, and trades personnel to complete shutdown work efficiently and on schedule.
• Operate and use tools and equipment as directed, ensuring all equipment is maintained and used correctly.

• Carry out physically demanding work in a variety of industrial environments and weather conditions.

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring work areas remain clean, tidy, and free from hazards.

• Participate in pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.

• Identify, report, and help mitigate hazards, near misses, incidents, and unsafe conditions.

• Follow all site procedures, permit systems, and client requirements at all times.

• Work effectively within a team environment, contributing to a positive and productive workplace culture.

• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and flexibility to work 12-hour shifts throughout the shutdown period
