Senior Buyer Retail Groceries and Perishables
Supermercados Los Gigantes continues to grow and seeks to integrate a Senior Buyer with extensive experience in strategic negotiation, supplier development, and sourcing of products for supermarkets into its team.
Location Jiménez, Chihuahua
Schedule Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Salary 50,000 gross monthly

What will be your challenge
You will be responsible for ensuring the timely and profitable supply of the supermarket's different categories, strategically negotiating with suppliers to ensure the best combination of cost, quality, availability, and profitability, contributing to the company's growth and commercial success.
Main responsibilities Develop and implement purchasing strategies for grocery and perishable categories - fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy, bakery, among others. Negotiate prices, discounts, promotions, payment terms, and commercial agreements with suppliers. Maintain and strengthen strategic relationships with national and regional suppliers. Possess a wide portfolio of suppliers in the grocery sector. Seek and develop new suppliers that add value to the business. Analyze market trends, seasonality, price behavior, and competition to make purchasing decisions. Ensure optimal inventory levels, minimizing waste, expiries, and losses. Work in coordination with Operations, Logistics, Commercial, and Quality areas to ensure product availability. Participate in the planning of promotions, commercial campaigns, and assortment strategies.
Experience
7 years of experience in purchasing within the retail, self-service, or supermarket sector.
Proven experience in negotiating with suppliers and generating savings.
Desirable experience in grocery categories and perishable products.
Education Bachelor's degree in Administration, International Trade, Business, Industrial Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
Knowledge Strategic purchasing management. Category management. High-level commercial negotiation. Demand and inventory planning. Commercial margins. Supply chain and logistics processes. Food safety and handling regulations. ERP system management. Advanced Excel.
