Compliance Engineer (m/f/d)

As a Compliance Engineer, you will drive the development of safe and compliant printing systems in a dynamic, multidisciplinary R&D environment. You will bridge the gap between regulatory requirements and practical development – translating subtle compliance requirements into actionable guidelines and working closely with teams from Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software, and Project Management. Product Safety & Compliance: Evaluating product concepts and designs based on applicable safety standards with a focus on the Machinery Directive or Machinery Regulation. Risk Management: Leading and supporting risk assessments, implementing measures for risk minimization, and validating safety-related design solutions. Functional Safety: Driving functional safety topics (including safety-related control functions) and creating the associated technical documentation. Design Review: Reviewing detailed mechanical solutions from the perspective of product safety and compliance. Interface Coordination: Central point of contact for compliance topics with internal R&D teams, project participants, and external certification bodies. Documentation & Certification: Creating, maintaining, and reviewing the necessary technical documentation for product safety files and certification procedures. Machinery Directive / Machinery Regulation: Profound knowledge in the area of European machinery safety (Required). Mechanical Engineering: Practical experience in mechanical design and technical evaluation (Required). Functional Safety: Practical knowledge of safety-related control systems and relevant standards (Required). Language Skills: Fluent German and English, both written and spoken (Required). UL Standards: Knowledge of UL 775 (Safety Standard for Printing Machinery) (Desirable). Control Engineering: Basic understanding or experience in PLC / Programmable Logic Controller (Desirable). 30 days of vacation 36-hour week Permanent employment planned.
