Compliance Director - Australia - 6 month FTC

Zodia Custody is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority, Central Bank of Ireland, and currently applying for a license in Australia. Zodia Custody is seeking a Compliance Director to join the team on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) to support the establishment of our Australian business and prepare the business for its application for an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL). Key Responsibilities: * Provide expert compliance advice and guidance to the business in relation to the regulatory requirements applicable to our business in Australia. * Manage and oversee the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the compliance framework for the Australian business. * Provide support to the Head of Compliance to develop, maintain and embed a strong compliance culture within the business. * Review and assess new and existing products and services to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. * Conduct compliance risk assessments and identify and manage compliance risks. * Develop and deliver compliance training to staff. * Monitor compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures. * Assist with regulatory reporting and interactions with regulators. * Contribute to the development and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures. * Support the business through the AFSL application process. Experience and Qualifications: * Extensive experience in a compliance role within the financial services industry, ideally with experience in digital assets or fintech. * Strong understanding of Australian financial services regulations, including the Corporations Act and the Australian Financial Services Licensing regime. * Experience in developing and implementing compliance frameworks. * Experience in conducting compliance risk assessments. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Relevant qualifications (e.g., law degree, compliance certifications).
