Compliance Analyst – Risk & Monitoring (with On-Chain Exposure)

Location: Mexico, Brazil, or Argentina (Remote or Hybrid) Industry: Fintech / Payments / Crypto Culture: Risk-conscious, fast-evolving, tech-forward Role Summary Velafi is hiring a Compliance Analyst with experience in financial crime monitoring, transaction risk, and ideally on-chain risk exposure. This is a critical role ensuring proactive risk detection and regulatory alignment in a cross-border and digital asset context. Key Responsibilities Monitor transactions for suspicious activity across various platforms, including but not limited to: blockchain-based, decentralized finance (DeFi), and traditional payment systems. Identify and escalate potential risks to the Compliance Team, ensuring timely and effective mitigation strategies are implemented. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain comprehensive risk assessments, monitoring programs, and reporting dashboards. Develop and maintain expertise in relevant regulations, laws, and industry standards, including but not limited to: AML/CFT, KYC, GDPR, and other applicable regulations. Provide guidance and support to the Velafi team on compliance-related matters, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the fintech and crypto industries, applying this knowledge to continuously improve risk monitoring and mitigation strategies. Requirements Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., finance, law, business) or equivalent experience. At least 3 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field. Strong understanding of financial crime monitoring, transaction risk, and on-chain risk exposure. Experience with blockchain-based platforms, DeFi protocols, and traditional payment systems is an asset. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
