Community Service Officer, University Police Department

Join the University Police Department (UPD) as a Community Service Officer and be part of a dynamic team dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of our campuses. As a CSO, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment for students, faculty, and staff across various Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) campuses.

• Provide security for state buildings and grounds, ensuring the safety of occupants.
• Enforce laws, rules, and regulations while maintaining vigilance through surveillance and direct observation.
• Patrol buildings and grounds, checking for security breaches and reporting any violations.
• Assist with medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
• Engage with community members and participate in outreach events.
• Collect and secure found property, assist with lockouts, and provide walking safety escorts.
• Monitor radio communications and respond to emergency situations promptly.
• Submit work orders for repairs and assist with emergency call box checks.
• Support other campus departments during special events and vendor access.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, two years of public contact experience, and a valid driver's license. CPR and first aid certifications are required. We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
