Job description

The Position

BERLIN · as soon as possible · limited until December 31, 2027

Part-time – 32 hours/week | Position subject to funding approval

Application deadline: September 30, 2026, 1:00 PM

Do you want to tell stories about socially relevant topics in an understandable, sensitive, and target-group-oriented way? Do you have a knack for social media, storytelling, and political education – and do you want to develop content and campaigns for an anti-antisemitic educational project that reaches young people? Then become part of GermanDream.

About Us

GermanDream is Germany's most prominent educational movement for lived democracy and participation. Through our encounter formats, educational programs, and networking and public relations work, we sustainably convey the values of the Basic Law – in the classroom, in everyday life, and wherever people come together.

With the project DECODED – Antisemitism in Pop Culture and Media, we are expanding our anti-antisemitic educational work in Berlin. Together with Jewish artists, experts, and other cooperation partners, we make antisemitic codes, language, and digital dynamics visible. We empower young people, teachers, and pedagogical professionals to recognize, contextualize, and effectively counter antisemitism. The focus is on workshops with young people, training for teachers, digital content, and other formats.

Your Role

You will coordinate and shape the communicative implementation of the project – from editorial and content planning to publication: you will write texts, create graphics, conceptualize video formats, accompany workshops, shoots, and events, film yourself, and edit short video formats.

In doing so, you will translate the project's specialized topics into understandable, sensitive, and target-group-oriented content for social media, the website, newsletters, and other channels – from Reels, posts, share pics, and story formats to website texts, newsletter content, and accompanying communication materials for educational offerings and events.

You will develop formats and campaigns in close coordination with your direct supervisor, the project team, and the involved subject matter experts. You will prepare insights from the project work editorially and visually, keeping editorial plans, deadlines, coordination, and necessary materials in mind.

This is how you contribute to ensuring that the project's topics and offerings reach different target groups, Jewish perspectives are respectfully visible, and anti-antisemitic educational work can have an impact, including in the digital space.

What awaits you in this role

Content, Editorial, and Storytelling
  • You will plan, create, and publish content for project communication for social media, the website, newsletters, and our public relations work.

  • You will create texts, posts, short videos, and other digital formats related to the project's topics and activities.
  • You will tell stories from workshops, training sessions, collaborations, and events, making the people and perspectives behind the project visible.
  • You will ensure that Jewish perspectives are presented respectfully, in a nuanced, and discrimination-sensitive way.
  • You will adapt content to the respective channels, target groups, and platform logics.

Campaigns, Social Media, and Media Production

  • You will manage the project-related content on GermanDream's social media channels and ensure reliable publication.
  • You will plan and accompany events, video shoots, interviews, and video portraits, preparing questions and processes, and coordinating with all stakeholders.

  • You will ensure a consistent visual and linguistic presence according to GermanDream's Brand Guidelines.

  • You will contribute insights, feedback, and current developments to the further development of content, formats, and campaigns.
  • You will proactively communicate when content, deadlines, or production processes need to be adjusted.
