The opportunity

We are seeking a Communication Advisor- Leadership & Internal to help deliver communication plans that clearly convey CSIRO’s strategic direction.

As the Communication Advisor, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality communications that align with CSIRO’s strategic priorities. You’ll execute internal communication activities with clear, consistent messaging to engage and support our people through times of change.

Working closely with the Leadership & Internal Communication Manager, you’ll use your hands-on communication expertise to contribute to the successful planning and delivery of communication initiatives that have a direct, positive impact on the organisation.

Your high-level duties will include:

Developing and delivering communication plans that ensure our people are informed about CSIRO’s strategic direction. Establishing and maintaining trusted advisor relationships to deliver on key priorities and communication goals. Assisting the Leadership & Internal Communication Manager with the identification and management of issues, as required. Supporting a renewed focus on high priority programs including shift to strategic advisory, increase in self-service for tactical requests and a reduced number of channels. Demonstrating the integration of CSIRO’s strategic direction in all internal communication outputs. Providing specialist advice on the optimal use of CSIRO’s internal communication channels.

Role particulars

Location : Any AUS CSIRO location

Salary: AU$100k – AU$113k per annum (pro rata for part-time), plus 15.4% superannuation

Tenure: Specified term of 9 months, Full-time

As the successful candidate, you will bring:

Relevant tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience in communication – PR, marketing, digital, internal communication, media or journalism. Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of communication plans. Demonstrated experience creating content across a range of different platforms, including for digital audiences. Highly driven team player with an ability to work collaboratively and independently. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining excellent attention to detail and quality, and operate well in an often complex, ambiguous and fast-moving environment. The ability to build and maintain excellent collaborative relationships with stakeholders that help to achieve positive outcomes.
